| Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday hosted by An Island Life. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is a day to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays we take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, we ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. I’m so excited that Princess is finally 3 years old because now she can start dance lessons. She loves dancing and I hope she’ll follow the instructor’s dance moves. She’s told me she doesn’t need lessons so we’ll have to see how it goes. I enrolled her in a Jazz dance class for preschoolers.
My Question
What activities have you signed up your kids for? If they’re too little what activities are you looking forward to participating in?

you’re a very lucky mother. she’s very cute! I got a little daughter about 5 years old, and shes very active. last summer I enrolled her at swimming lesson. next time we will be spending time learning piano.
My older girl goes to piano, swimming, and taiko drums. My little one wants to play the piano one day, too.
My son is only 15 months, but I hope he gets into soccer – I played it a lot growing up was on teams and such. Other than that, I would hope he’d do Boy Scouts!
My oldest son wants to be in track. My middle son I am not sure yet. Brittany she is to young for anything. I look forward to being her girl scout leader.
My son tried T-ball when he was little but that only lasted one season because he didn’t have the patience for waiting in the field. He did soccer for a couple of years but decided he didn’t want to do it anymore. He doesn’t really want to do sports. I signed him up to play trombone in beginner band to see if he enjoyed it and he has continued with it for two years. I only sign him up for one activity at a time; I don’t want him to feel over scheduled between school work and church activities.
My girls are older. One did cheerleading and theater and the other did band. They loved what they did and put in a ton of time.
My 6 year old will probably start in Cub Scouts this year. In addition to this he has Hebrew School and we just signed up for swim lessons. Trying to find something special to do with my 2 year old, but have not figured anything out just yet.
Boy Scouts for my oldest so far. He’s going to play t-ball, soccer, and tennis. I let him choose what he wants to play. I haven’t found anything my 5 year old likes just yet, he’s not into sports at all. I’m giving it another year to find something for him. My daughter’s 2, so nothing for her just yet!
My daughter isn’t quite old enough yet, but we plan to get her swimming lessons next summer. Then, when she’s a little older we plan to get her horseback riding lessons. She loves horses and I think she’ll love this. I can’t say that I’m exactly looking forward to it since I’m not crazy about horses, but I’m looking forward to her excitement over it.
Mine are too old for me to sign them up for activiities.
I don’t have kids yet but if I’d have a girl I’d send her to dances and swimming lessons, and if I’d have a boy I’d send him to soccer practice and tennis.
Aloha Friday!

When she’s ready, some form of dance, and music. She’s already showing signs of loving both. She’s 13 months old.
I want to continue with my swimming practice.
Soccer, Scouts and church choir.
My son is in soccer, every school sport he can & cheerleading too. (that one took a second to get used to since he’s only 12!)
My daughter is getting back into gymnastics & swimming. She’s only 7. We did the dance thing when she was younger but she prefers gymnastics now. I think it’s because she wants to be a cheerleader too, although she doesn’t realize that ds is doing it for the girls!
Maybe this is too ambitious, but I’d like for my son to learn a sport and an instrument. When I was 4 my parents gave me the choice between piano, like my brothers, and ballet. I chose ballet and loved it, continuing through high school. But since my son is only 6 months old…I have a while to think about it, and I’ll probably give him a few options to choose from when he’s old enough.
